I will dominate 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be streamed live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two time unified boxing king Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will really want to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead targeted ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making huge earnings.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity evident, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually happening.
